Getting started takes about five minutes. You only need to do this once, as the family admin.

1. Create your account

1

Open Kredz at www.kredz.app or download the iPhone and iPad app, then sign up with your email.
2

Confirm you're an adult

Because Kredz holds information about children, the person who creates a family confirms they’re the parent or guardian setting it up. This attestation is recorded once.
3

Name your family

Your family is the shared space everyone’s balances and rules live in.

2. Add your kids

Each child gets their own balance and history.
1

Add a child

From the dashboard, add a child with just a first name or nickname.
2

Keep it minimal

Kredz intentionally collects as little about children as possible — a name is all that’s needed. There’s no birthday or other personal detail to enter.
Children’s accounts are read-only. A child can see their own balance, but only an admin or caregiver can record anything.

3. Write your first rule

Rules are the reusable building blocks behind every credit.
1

Create a rule

Give it a name, choose whether it earns, spends, or penalizes credits, and set the amount.
2

Apply it

Tap the rule for a child to record a transaction. Their balance updates right away.
See Rules for the full picture of rule types.

4. Invite the rest of the family

Bring in a co-parent, grandparent, or sitter so the numbers stay in sync no matter who’s on duty. See Family & caregivers.
Once you’ve added a child and a rule, you’re ready to go. Everything else can grow over time.
